Email from FERC:FedEx Pre-65 Retiree Health ParticipantsOn Tuesday, November 10th, come hear about the upcoming 2016 Pre-65 Retiree Health participants changes. Cigna in conjunction with FedEx Benefits will provide an overview of the new options and host a Q&A session -- Colonial Country Club, Terrace Room, 2736 Countrywood Parkway, Cordova, TN. What I've learned so far is that not only can we not use Baptist Hospitals (not new) but now any doctor affiliated with Baptist is excluded under the new plan option. This narrows the field of doctors significantly ranging from internists to oncology to surgeons regardless of what other hospitals they have privileges at.

Laura Ladd Beard10/23/2015

Peggy i got a letter a few weeks ago from Baptist Medical Group. It indicated that if you have a Cigna plan other then LocalPlus, you can continue to see your Baptist Medical Group physician. It said if you are a FedEx employee, you need to choose Cigna Open Access Plan. Not sure if this applies to retirees or if is related to what you mentioned above.

I have about 6 months till I must transition to Medicare. For anyone of you have morphed from FedEx Retiree Insurance to Medicare & a Supplemental plan.....I know there is a window when you have to sign up, how many months before did you sign up? Was the transition good or bad? Did you save any money over paying for FedEx insurance?thanks for any info

Jack Brown10/21/2015

Per Medicare.gov: For example, if you're eligible for Medicare when you turn 65, you can sign up during the 7-month period that begins 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes the month you turn 65, and ends 3 months after the month you turn 65. https://www.medicare.gov/sign-up-change-plans/get-parts-a-and-b/when-sign-up-parts-a-and-b/when-sign-up-parts-a-and-b.html

I have about 6 months till I must transition to Medicare.

Help! Trying to file for me and my wife Your Spending Account reimbursement for the $85 per month Medicare premium. Office has moved from Omaha to El Paso. Telephone number no longer works. Website only shows my Health Spending Account and not the Medicare reimbursement account. Thanks!

John McCorkle10/28/2015

Carl, are you talking about the www.yourspendingaccount.com/fedex ??

Carl Wayne Hardeman10/28/2015

Yes. It only shows the Health Spending Account and we have to file separately for the Medicare premium reimbursement. We have done it by mail and now no address or telephone number available.

John McCorkle10/28/2015

I think you want to use the OneExchange for that. I show a 1-866-682-4741 number

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

Call FedEx Benefits before you call OneExchange. OneExchange will just have to submit an action for FedEx Benefits Dept. You should get something in the mail when you turn 65 but call to verify.

Don Rose10/28/2015

Debora, I am eligible for this $85 per month reimbursement? This is the first I have heard about it and I've been paying Medicare out of SS for 2 years.

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

Get on that phone Don! Get your money honey.

Charlotte Benton Hieronymus10/28/2015

I agree with Debora. If you retired from FedEx and have turned 65, and are on Medicare then you qualify.

Don Rose10/28/2015

Who do I call? I turn 67 on Sunday, and I could sure use the money.

Charlotte Benton Hieronymus10/28/2015

It's basically a spending account. You can use it to help with Medicare payments, supplemental insurance, prescription drug coverage, etc.

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

Don Rose I'll PM you phone number in a second.

Charlotte Benton Hieronymus10/28/2015

The last phone number I have is 800-888-5622 (employee benefits).

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

correct number

Don Rose10/28/2015

Thank you ladies. I assume they are closed now since it's after 5:00, but I'll call them tomorrow morning.

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

Note to all, the benefits book says you must activate your HRA within 120 days of the medicare date.

Debora Williams Waller10/28/2015

Also note that your spouse may be eligible for the spending account if covered by group health plan. I don't want to post policy on FB but give enough info for you to research.

Don Rose10/28/2015

I haven't seen a benefits book since I retired 10/01/2003. How was I to know about this benefit? I have received nothing in the mail.

Mary Drummond10/29/2015

You gotta keep your address updated with Fedex Retirement. Every time I move, have to figure out how to update.

Don Rose10/29/2015

They have my address. The only thing I see from FedEx is a monthly notice saying my check was deposited.

Walking the Haunted HallsI've been back to the WTC twice since I retired about 7+ years ago. Last year and this year for their Halloween thing for kids. The employees do an excellent job for the children with lots of candy and several Haunted Houses. As I walked the halls, I saw about 4-5 people I knew, and I looked at nameplates on the offices and cubicles as I walked with Capt America, Princess Rapunzel & Princess Sofia the First.I only could recognize a few names in the 100+ namplates I looked at. With the last buyout, I guess the mantle has changed and there are lots of new & younger blood walking these haunted halls. It was a Blast being there again. I can only hope that this new age of Fedxr's can have half the fun we had 20+ years ago.

Bill is too. Now I'm not sure how I will enroll. It looks like I'll be calling too. Thanks for the info.
